Started in the fall 1980,
The Marshfield High School Rugby Club,the second oldest high school club in Massachusetts, was started as an Intramural
Rugby program (boys and girls) at the Furnace Brook Middle School. In 1982 the club played its Inaugural match against the Montgomery
School of Alamein from Winchester, England. In 1999 MHS started a Girl High School Rugby Club, one of four teams in New England and the first in Massachusetts.
Over the years MHS rugby has enjoyed a measure of success including State and New England Championships the most recent 2007 Division II New
England Champions, Sevens Tournament wins, and succuessful overseas tours.
